The K J Somaiya Medical College is affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) and provides quality medical education to students enrolled in various undergraduate and postgraduate programs related to medical sciences. The college has adopted the Competency Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum as prescribed by the regulations to Graduate Medical Education from the academic year 2019.

The multitude of teaching facilities including lecture theatres, Small Group Teaching (SGT) rooms, laboratories, museums, a well-equipped library and a skills lababoratoryensure that academic content is delivered to the learners in an efficient and effective manner. The qualified and experienced teaching faculty act as facilitators, guides and mentors making medical education an enjoyable experience for the students. Faculty Development Programs including the Revised Basic Course Workshop and Curriculum Implementation Support Program conducted frequently by the Medical Education Unit (MEU) help faculty members to hone their teaching skills and stay connected to the latest concepts in Medical Education Technology.

Hostel facility is available for students, interns and residents alongwith mess and housekeeping.  There is security arrangement  and separate warden for boys and girls hostel. Various indoor and outdoor games ensure adequate recreational facilities for students.
